I am thrilled to be taking part in the Fresh Art Fair at Ascot Racecourse, 19-22 September, exhibiting some photographs from the Namibian Deserts and the Skeleton Coast. I will be at the Art Fair on Saturday 21st September.
The show will be at Stand D17, run by Arabella Kiszely, artist and owner of Little Buckland Gallery. In addition there will be a Preview weekend at Little Buckland Gallery 13-15 September, 10am – 5pm. This lovely Gallery is in the Cotswold hills of North Gloucestershire, near Broadway, WR12 7JH.
In addition to photography, the show will comprise artwork from a number of disciplines including painters, sculpture and ceramics. To see who these exciting artists are, and their fields of work, tap on the preview image below.
The Namibian photographs are the result of a two-week journey earlier this year from the South Namib Desert to Kaokoveld and the North-Namib Desert, via the Skeleton Coast. My experience of Namibia is one of a vast natural landscape, pretty much intact, with a variety desert, mountains and coastline. The Skeleton Coast has its own climate, being dominated by sea mist for 300 days of the year, caused by the Benguela Current cooled by the seas of Antarctica. This causes the mist and clouds to creep inland mixing with desert and coastline. The freshness of the coast makes for a creative work environment, where artists and photographers can go about their work peacefully, as they become absorbed by this extraordinary landscape.
Some of the photographs at the Art Fair and at the Preview at Little Buckland Gallery are displayed here.
