Portfolio

This is a selection of some of the landscape photography I have pursued over the last 18 years, particularly in Scotland and Oman. Living in Scotland means you are close to some of the most spectacular scenery. The sheer variety presented by seasonal change can be quickly accessed. Oman, in contrast, is hot all year round and a different approach is needed. It is a country where you have to work at your photography, due to the harshness of the light. That means scouting over many miles, finding the right location and being there at dawn, or sunset. Both these countries have provided the source material for books, portfolios and private commissions. Part of the reward of photography is that a high level of focus is needed to present locations at their most intriguing. This concentration reveals something of the style and motivation of the photographer.
